We had a great time celebrating Independence Day. We started the day out, with some friends of ours, at the Copperton Races. It is a good, home-town kind of fun. They have a breakfast, then they do foot races. These are not just any foot races. They have them by gender and age, and the go all the way up to the 50+ category, and let me tell you that's one of the most fun to watch. My sister-in-law's dad won his heat this year! And winning is good because they give you money. If you are good enough, then you'd be able to win back your breakfast money. After the foot races, they did a father-daughter and mother-son three legged race, shoe scrambles, and the hula-hoop contest. Nora begged to hula-hoop, so Daddy took her out there. She already practicing for next year.
It's a great time to hang out with family and friends, and feel like we were at a huge family reunion. It's one of my favorite things to do on the 4th of July.
Later that night, we went over to our friends' house and watched a great fireworks show. It's always more fun with kids around, and always fun to spend time with friends. Thanks Jen for the pictures!
