My dad's family has been going to Bear Lake for a reunion for about 20 years. We didn't get to go last year, so we were looking forward to going and spending time with family. It seemed like most of the family was going to be there, and it turned out to be great, even with the rain.
It's always fun to hang out with cousins, second cousins, aunts, uncles, brother, sisters and all the random people that come.
Nora has been so excited to go to the lake. Turns out she thinks lakes are yucky, and wouldn't get in unless someone was holding her. She did let me take her for a short ride on the wave runner.
Tate, on the other hand, loved the water.
Playing with dad.
Nora loved the smores, at least for a little while.
Nora did like playing in the sand, and all the kids loved the dogs.
My uncle David brought his metal detector, and it was fun for kids of all ages.
My mom taught some of the girls a song, and they performed it for everyone one morning. Nora was giving them moral support.
Courtnie took over the job of singing songs for hours and hours with the girls. The Jellyfish was a favorite, and even Aunt Deanna joined in for a bit.
Grandpa Steve and Grandma Cindy gave Tate this outfit for Christmas, and he was able to wear it when the temperature was cool. My Uncle Dwayne graduated from UW, so we had to take a picture.
Beau spent some time relaxing with the kids making a sand city. Nora didn't help much, but was happy to pose nearby.
The kids had fun making Kyle into a sand merman.
Memories of this year will be the rain and more rain. It poured Friday night. We stood under the pavilion and watched it come down, until the wind started blowing things away. Some took care of the kids, while other chased things down the beach or out of the water. Dad created a ditch for the water to run off the cement where we were gathered. Aunt Deanna used the rain to help clean up after dinner. Luckily nothing got too wet in the tents. Then it rained a couple of times on Saturday too. It always helps to be with people that you like when there's nothing to do, but be really close together while it pours all around.
This is what Beau looked like for a couple of days after we got home.
Thanks for the good memories all around!
